Shivani Honwad, Esq. specializes in start-up business and immigration law. A graduate of American University Washington College of Law, she has devoted her career to helping individuals obtain legal services and resources to help them seize opportunities to improve their lives.  

Whether it’s pursuing an education they would not otherwise have access to, obtaining new job opportunities outside their home country, escaping abusive circumstances, or reuniting with family, Ms. Honwad blends her passion and expertise to help people achieve their dreams.

Ms. Honwad is a passionate advocate for the rights of women and children.  While pursuing her Bachelors in Marketing and International Business at NYU Stern School of Business, Ms. Honwad experienced and witnessed firsthand the suffering and extreme devastation caused by the 2005 Mumbai floods. This life-altering experience led Ms. Honwad to complete her business degree with a focus on building sustainable business and community partnerships and then pursue a degree in law specializing in human rights and immigration.

Prior to founding her own firm, Ms. Honwad worked with prominent local and multi-national business and family-based immigration law firms, and also spent time as an associate at a law firm specializing in criminal defense and personal injury.

Ms. Honwad founded The Law Firm of Shivani Honwad, LLC in 2014.  The Firm focuses primarily on immigration law, whereby a portion of the fees earned on each case goes towards pro bono cases where Ms. Honwad represents children fleeing violence, abuse and human trafficking and to that end she recently started her own film company to produce films about human right issues.

Rachel Fishbein, Of-Counsel

Rachel Fischbein is the founder of Law On The Runway. She primarily assists fashion and beauty entrepreneurs as they build the foundations of their companies and navigate contractual relationships. 

She has been published by Women 2.0 and Young, Fabulous, & Self- Employed Magazine. Ms. Fischbein is also on the board of directors of PeoplewearSF, a nonprofit supporting the Bay Area fashion industry. She's a frequent presenter on topics such as intellectual property rights within apparel and jewelry designs, privacy law issues of wearable technology, and the regulations of social media and blogging. 

Ms. Fischbein is based in San Francisco and licensed to practice law in California. She holds a Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara University, and a bachelors degree from Woodbury University in Fashion Marketing.  


Alex Kaplun, Of-Counsel

Alex Kaplun is a partner in the corporate practice group of Golenbock Eiseman Assor Bell & Peskoe LLP, which is a 60 person boutique law firm located in NYC.

He's a partner in the corporate group, and is engaged in a sophisticated transactional practice focused on middle market M&A, securities and a variety of financing and investment work, including representing VC and entrepreneurs in a wide range of their capital raising activities.

In the M&A practice, Alex represents private equity funds and other investors who either buy companies or buy a minority interest in a variety of industries. In the securities practice, Alex works mainly with small and mid-cap issuers with a strong emphasis on international companies.

In addition, he works with family-owned businesses where the younger generation have no interest in running the business and helps the owners find an appropriate “exit” strategy and with entrepreneurs establishing a new business.
